Delaware Million Solar Roofs Coalition Mission

The Delaware Million Solar Roofs Coalition (DMSRC) is an unincorporated association established in 2002 by a group of organizations, businesses, and individuals working together for the advancement of the use of solar energy, other forms of renewable energy, and energy efficiency.  The establishment of the DMSRC was in response to the United States Department of Energy’s (US DOE) request for state partners in the Million Solar Roofs Initiative (MSRI).  In 2006, US DOE restructured its solar programs by discontinuing the MSRI and replacing it with the Solar America Initiative.

The DMSRC continues to support the goals of the MSRI by:

Identifying and eliminating market barriers to the installation to solar energy systems.

Developing and strengthening local demand for solar energy products and applications.

Promoting zero energy and near-zero energy homes and buildings.

Educating consumers on the benefits of solar energy, other renewable energy technologies, and energy efficiency.

Overcoming local barriers to the use of solar energy.
